Finding outfits for your family session can be over the top stressful! But I am here to save you and give you some advice on what to and what not to wear for your session!

When asking yourself what to AVOID I want you to think of anything that doesn’t feel right or fit right!

Stiff fabrics, business attire, starchy fabric or things that don’t allow you to freely move.
Avoid things you are having to constantly adjust. Your session will be child led and I want you to be able to be in the moment with your loved ones and when you are not comfortable or constantly adjusting things it makes it difficult to capture those precious moments.
Avoid overly matching outfits, there is a difference between intentional and unintentional matching.
Accessories are encouraged but nothing too over the top, simple accessories can add to the story but we don’t want to take away from it!
Avoid bright colors or anything that will over power the images!

What to wear: Things that might catch a little air when you move to tell the story of movement.
DON’T be afraid of mixing in a few different types of patterns; for example maybe one girl will be in something floral while another girl will be in something plaid or stripped! I will add examples below!
I also encourage adding texture, layers, and different types of fabrics that can add depth to an image!
Stick to a cohesive color palette that will complement each other earthy tones and pastels usually photograph best!
